Toro Safari Lodge has 5 en-suited chalets allowing families with kids of 4-10 persons ideal to share the open nature vehicle "like owners" where you manage your own scheduled, we specialize in ''exclusive-use'' safaris, meaning you, your family and friends will have one of our lodges and accompanying Game Drive Vehicle/s with Guide/s, all to yourselves. Here you will find the rest and peace you need after an exciting safari day in combination with personalized service and a warm welcome by our staff.

Highly qualified guides take you on exciting game drives and share their extensive knowledge of the African bush with you with access to over 26,000 hectares of wildlife in the "Makalali" Private Game Reserve where your outdoor safari experience comes to live.  Toro River Lodge is built ion the banks of the "Makhutswi" River, where hippo, crocodile residentes, Big 5 visitors come to the water hole.  Your game viewing experiences is not confined to main roads, as our guides are able to navigate through dense bush, leading you to sights otherwise unseen.

Welcome to the self-Catering option or a full catered service for your private group.  You can book 3 Chalets for your smaller group or the whole place up to 7 Chalets all with private bathrooms with thatch african Architecture, open lapa, boma under the stars, electric fenced, pool, making it the center of the camp while you enjoy some of the most amazing views with active wild animals coming to drink water in front of you in a tranquil setting inside a private game reserve.

Awake at sunrise, after a peaceful night’s sleep, enjoying hot coffee and a light breakfast before you head into the wilds with your Expert Field Nature Guide and Tracker to explore a world of nature that only an African Safari can expose you to.

A peaceful early morning breakfast on the deck as the sun rises is a great way to start your day, just before the excitement of exploring the wildlife with your guide. The wildlife hide underneath the deck is also the perfect place to enjoy a spot of birding or photography during the hottest part of the day.

A Day at the Lodge

  • 6:15 Wake-up call
  • 6:45 - 7:00 Early morning tea & coffee with rusks, toast, cereals, yogurt and fruits are served on the early designed meeting area for the group
  • 7:00 - your own time Morning safari. Snacks & drinks during the morning walks and drives
  • 11:30 - 12:00 Buffet brunch is served
  • 15:15 Afternoon tea & coffee
  • 13:30 - 19:30 Afternoon/night safari. Snacks & drinks during the sundowner stop
  • 20:00 Dinner on an open fire 

Toro River Safari Lodge comprises of 5 espacious all en-suite Chalets adorned with supreme comforts with cotton linens to king size beds, 3 of the chalets have sleeper couches for the kids U12 to sleep with their parents, balcony, outside shower, bath tub. 

Accommodating 10 persons + 2 Manager's Chalets available for the Cook or Driver.
